Many visitors to Summit Christian School remark that our school is different than other schools. They note the diversity, our approach to specials, our middle school structure, and our excellent academics. However, the comment that rises to the top is about the climate…, “SCS just feels different. It’s a special, unique place that feels like home.” And that climate stems from several key values.

Respect is the cornerstone of a healthy society. When citizens demonstrate respect, they are not only exercising good manners; they are also communicating that others are worthy of respect. Being respectful of God, others, and ourselves is a significant character trait that is cultivated at Summit Christian School and undergirds all pursuits. Why? Because we are all worthy of being respected and all capable of demonstrating it. As students are respected and taught how to be respectful, their overall character and academics will blossom.

Speaking of worth, at SCS we fully understand that none of us is worthy of salvation apart from Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. We also understand that salvation through Christ is available to everyone regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, background, current spiritual state, etc. (Romans 1:16). This is exactly why Summit Christian is a missional school. We are missional in that families do not have to profess faith in Christ, attend a church, or know anything about the gospel or the Bible to enroll at SCS.

It is our honor to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and the truth of God’s Word with every soul that joins our school family. Every member of our board, faculty, and staff is a professing believer who has been called to serve the diverse population at our school. Through our service at SCS we are taking the gospel to all the ends of the earth (Matthew 28:19), starting with our school family. That task is done joyously and without reservation through classroom discipleship, Bible courses, Biblical integration of core curriculum, community service, and Chapel services. If your family does attend church, profess Christ, and know the gospel, we welcome the opportunity to come along side you to disciple your children.

At Summit Christian School we value the partnership between home and school, so much so that it is one of the expectations of enrollment. You are the expert on your child. You know their habits, their highs and lows, and their personality. We are the experts in the classroom. Our teachers are experienced, collaborative, and fully licensed professionals. When we combine parent and professional expertise, we provide our students with an optimal learning experience and a sense of family that is unmatched.

I personally invite you to come take a tour of our school, notice the difference, and see dreaming in action!
