Tuition & Financial Aid

SCS is an affordable private Christian school where the cost is low and the expectations are high.

Tuition Fees

The registration fee must be paid in order to hold a place in the classroom until July 1 when the first tuition payment is due. Payment of tuition is essential for continuation of enrollment.  A student whose tuition is not paid by July 8 will no longer be guaranteed enrollment in his/her class.  At that time a student from the waiting list will be notified of the opening. All registration and technology fees are non-refundable.

Registration Fee:

  • Per New Student: $200 per new student
  • Per Returning Student: $150

Tuition Fees:

Kindergarten – 8th Grade

$4,650.00 per student / year

$387.50 per student / month

Technology Fee:

Kindergarten -8th Grade

$50 per student / year (Maximum of $100 per family / year)

Note: Tuition is paid on a twelve-month payment plan (with the exception of those who are late enrollees). The first payment is due July 1 and the last payment of each year is due on June 1.  Any deviation from the given payment schedule must be through a written request and approval of the school board.  Special payment plans are subject to a $10/month service fee.

Financial Aid

The SCS Board has presently established two forms of financial aid available to all families. These include:

Tuition Reduction Incentive Program

To help defray the cost of tuition, the Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (T.R.I.P.) is available.  Parents can save hundreds of dollars on tuition by using the T.R.I.P. program.  Merchants in our area and across the nation allow the purchase of gift certificates while returning a percentage of the cost back to parents as a tuition credit. Call the school office for a detailed information packet on this special program.

Early Full Payment Incentive

All accounts paid in full by July 15 will be discounted up to 5%.

Summit Christian School is a provider for the EdChoice and EdChoice Expansion scholarships that are offered through the Ohio Department of Education. These scholarships provide $4,650 towards private school tuition for kindergarten through 8th grade students.  Traditional EdChoice scholarships are available to students residing in designated (failing) school districts. EdChoice Expansion scholarships are available to students with a family income below 200% of the poverty guideline without regard to a student’s assigned school. Our staff will work with you to apply for a scholarship if you are eligible.

Charges & Fees

Please be advised of the following expenses that are outside of the cost of tuition:

Tuition is always due on the 1st of each month. A $35.00 late charge will be added to payments received after the 8th of the month (or the last school day prior to the 8th). There will also be a $35.00 service charge for NSF checks. This policy applies to EdChoice Scholarship recipients whose parents do not sign the state check sent to SCS within 30 days of notification of the arrivals of checks from the State of Ohio (3 times each year).
