Admissions

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Thank you for your interest in our school. We are pleased that you have found us! Although the application and enrollment process may seem difficult, it really is quite simple.

  1. Call the school office at 330-762-3382 to schedule an interview.
  1. Schedule an appointment for your child to be tested. The cost for testing is $25/child and is non-refundable. In rare cases, if an achievement test (e.g. TerraNova, Stanford, IOWA) has been given within the last six months at another school, those scores can be accepted for admission. This does not apply to kindergarten. Our kindergarten test is a “readiness skills test” and must be administered by our SCS staff. Once your child has been tested and accepted, then you will proceed to the application.
  1. Complete the application forms and pay the registration fee. Doing so reserves your child’s place on the class roster until the first tuition payment is due.
  1. Provide a copy of your student’s birth certificate and his/her current immunization records to the school office. If the student’s parents are divorced, state law requires that a copy of the court custodial papers be on file in the school office.
  1. If you live in a failing school district, your student may be eligible for an EdChoice scholarship.  EdChoice Expansion scholarships are also available to students entering kindergarten – 4th grade based on family income.  You may contact our office with any questions about these programs.

We look forward to partnering with you!

Blessings,
Stephanie Fleser

Tuition Fee Schedule
2017/2018

Registration Fee

Per student:       $150 per new student

$100 per returning student if paid before February 10th.   After February 10th returning students pay the full registrations amount of $150.

The registration fee must be paid in order to hold a place in the classroom until July 1 when the first tuition payment is due. Payment of tuition is essential for continuation of enrollment.  A student whose tuition is not paid by July 8 will no longer be guaranteed enrollment in his/her class.  At that time a student from the waiting list will be notified of the opening.  All registration fees are non-refundable.

Tuition Fees

Kindergarten                                          $4,650.00 ($387.50/mo. July 2017 – June 2018)

Elementary School (1st-5th)                 $4,650.00 ($387.50/mo. July 2017 – June 2018)

Middle School (6th–8th)                       $4,650.00 ($387.50/mo. July 2017 – June 2018)

Note:   Tuition is paid on a twelve-month payment plan (with the exception of those who are late enrollees). The first payment is due July 1 and the last payment of each year is due on June 1.  Any deviation from the given payment schedule must be through a written request and approval of the school board.  Special payment plans are subject to a $10/month service fee.

Financial Aid

The SCS Board has presently established two forms of financial aid available to all families.  These include:

1.  Tuition Reduction Incentive Program

To help defray the cost of tuition, the Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (T.R.I.P.) is available.  Parents can save hundreds of dollars on tuition by using the T.R.I.P. program.  Merchants in our area and across the nation allow the purchase of gift certificates while returning a percentage of the cost back to parents as a tuition credit. Call the school office for a detailed information packet on this special program.

2.  Early payment in full.

Accounts paid in full by July 15 will be discounted 5%.

Late Charges and Services Fees

Tuition is always due on the 1st of each month. A $35.00 late charge will be added to payments received after the 8th of the month (or the last school day prior to the 8th). There will also be a $35.00 service charge for NSF checks. This policy applies to EdChoice Scholarship recipients whose parents do not sign the state check sent to SCS within 30 days of notification of the arrivals of checks from the State of Ohio (3 times each year).

Please be advised of the following expenses that are outside of the cost of tuition:

  • registration fee ($150)
  • testing fee ($25)
  • lunch/milk program ($3.50 daily)
  • school supplies (determined by each teacher)
  • gym uniform (3rd – 8th)
  • after care costs (incurred by families who must pick up children after school hours)

Testing Policy

All new students must be tested before entering SCS.  The only exception to this rule is a student who has taken a standardized achievement test (Terra Nova, IOWA, Stanford) within the last six months.  Test results from a former school may be accepted if they are current.
